Feed the birds

and what thanks do you get the dreaded brambles,that spread like wild fire,but a do have a robin and a tiny Jennie Wren,hard choice,

I ground feed the birds now and also use the bird table. I've stopped uusing those hanging things for fatballs and peanuts, I think the birds use up far to much energy in hanging on to them to feed

Yes, about 6 come through the garden, my dog is an early warning alarm, once she spots them through the window, her barks send them packing. Todate never seen a cat catching a bird yet in my garden. I've found the remains of birds that have been attacked by sparrowhawks. Last year one was perched on top of my bird table - The garden was clear of birds for days.

WE had a sparrow hawk in the back garden years ago eatting a small sparrow,I tried to make a green hosepipe look like a snake,

The Magpies here will willingly come and take it from your hand,and I will willingly give it, it is very pleasing. Cheers

I think a magpie took a bracelet of my window sill,the window was open,checked the garden didnt find it, Think are resident crow has gone died,he could fly but spend more time running around under the trees,

Wow that is interesting Bob, I find them pretty unapproachable and skittish but love to see them. There are 7 spending time in the apple tree at the back of the garden but not staying.
For years I have been writing down birds I have seen in my garden.

A range of approaches is good. Many birds won’t feed on the ground. Always throw apple cores on the grass, blackbirds love them!

The bird eat the apples on the tree that are to high up for me to reach,Great apples make a lovely Pie,But my neighbours dont want them,last summer had to throw a bag full in the bin,the squirrel enjoy an apple,
