I am sure some of my childhood friend must be on the photo, Only 2 of us went to EM rest went to beach road till they were 11years old,one girl went the the grammar school in crosby rest to the cenny,where they had to get N to have a shower

It was a long walk from sefton rd to beach road school kids today would expect to be taken by car,

Till the new classroom were built there were 2 classes held in the EM hall, third class held in the room at the end of the hall,

My 2 older brothers went to Beach Road school from the age of 7.

When the boys reached the age of 7 at Lander Road School they transferred to Beach Road.

My year of 1953 at Lander Road were the first boys not to tranfer to Beach Road, we joined Lander Road juniors, Jesse Gale was the headmistress.

We moved in to a brand new classromm of two built at the top near to Webnster Street.

I was looking forward to going to Beach Road School, as they did lots of good thngs at the school - Joe Lowe was the headmaster.

And what a fine Headmaster he was. Always interested in the kid's education and much more. An advocate of swimming. We used to go the baths at Southort on a Monday. By train of course.
And the school had an allotment on Beach Road championed by Joe himself.

My cousin was at Beach Road and past the 11+

I bet Joe Lowe is on the swimming photos. I have various photos from my time there.

Eric Forster 1957, John - He wasn’t at Waterloo Grammar for long, they emigrated to Oz in ‘58.
