I wonder how many of those girls' fathers' names are on the Litherland Cenotaph
Over 70 lads and one teacher gave their lives from Lander Road School.
At the unveiling of the war memorial at the school. The boys sang the hymn "Soldier, Rest! Thy warfare over".
I can vaguely recall the wooden memorial on the wall with the names in Miss Scott's classroom.
I called at the school about 20 years ago and spoke to the headmistress, who kindly had someone show me around the school, visiting my old classrooms.
I asked the headmistress about the memorial, but she didn't know about it being in the school or its whereabouts.
I've created memorial shields like the one below for all the Litherland war memorials, schools/factories, etc.
