His father took over the Liverpool Arms in the 1870s from Edward Myers.
The Liverpool Arms opened as a 'Beer House' in the 1850s by a widowed Irish woman named Butler.
Part of his farm was on the land that Criddle's Estate was built on in the 1930s.
It's interesting also; there were three generations of Cooksons who ran the Tailors' Arms.
