The sign on the gable-end dates from the mid 1890s, behind the name is a tragic case of Filicide.
I'd created a page for this tragedy on my old Litherland Digital website dated 2008 - I will create an updated version of that page.
Behind the wall on rhe left was the coal-wharf - Also visible is Smith's grocer's sign.
