My dads family were living in Kirkstone Road North in 1945. The various brothers would not all have returned from the war in 1945, but I think they had been demobbed by 1946.

They had a front parlour with a fireplace that was rarely lit other than at Xmas, and then it was my dads brother Jack was was keenest to light it. I like to think that Jack (wounded in action crossing the Rhine) got the fire going in 1946 when the family were all reunited.
