This image (2008) is from my old website, it was sent to me by the late John Mercer an ex-Liverpool Fire Bobby. John grew up in Hatton Hill.

The man leading the parade is his Grandfather George Mercer.

Litherland didn't have it's own HG Battalion, Litherland men joined the 75th its HG was on Crosby Road.

Bootle had two HG Bns, 77th & 88th
The HG was active from 14 May 1940 until stood down on 3rd December 1944. It was disbanded December, 1945.
