Yes Norma, she did remarry. The house in Sefton Road had a lodger, Herbert Laing. She eventually married him. He was a cockney and about 20 years younger! Known as Bert. I’ve got a photo if you are interested.
She certainly had a tough life. Born in the workhouse on Brownlow Hill and abandoned there. Was adopted and became a child servant in Crosby but made the best of things and married this Bill Seddon. After he died the two eldest daughters had to go into service. One of them to a farm in Litherland called Longhouse farm. WW1 broke out and she lost a son, John. She went on to live through WW2 and died soon after. A real survivor!
There were 5 Bill Seddons one after the other, father then son. The first was born in about 1820 the latest is still alive and is my cousin. Sadly he had no sons.
