I’ve got a soft spot for those because when we were kids in Bootle we would occasionally get a summer holiday by staying in my aunty Mary’s house in Southport when they went to the Isle of Man. I would see mesembryanthemums in peoples gardens as they thrive in sandy soil. Never seen anything like it in Bootle!
