Re: Att Ronnie
Norma I worked for Sefton Social Services in Home Care started as a home help as it was, then we became carers not just shopping and cleaning. We were trained to assist people to bath/shower, get out of bed, sometimes with hoists and with two people when needed. I then became a senior and visited new clients and checked on the care they were getting. Then I was a Supervisor arranging the carers calls and dealing with clients needs. I was then a NVQ assessor for all of South Sefton enabling carers to pass the tests. Then Sefton was passed on to private care and we were offered redundacy, a move to private or a different job with Sefton. So I then went to work in the office for the Community Care Store, who provided all the equipment needed for the needy and elderly, bath lifts, walking aids and rails in the home, this also included children or anyone who was needing help to remain in their homes. I was there for six years after working till 65 and was employed overall for 32 years with Sefton. You can't tell me anything that I haven't dealt with.
