If you mean immediately on the left after litherland park (entrance opp the litherland hotel that was) it was Mrs Burns's shop. Sweets and tobacco. Also a big table covered in an oilskin tablecloth where the cart drivers used to stop for big mugs of tea. Their horses outside patiently munching on hay in their nosebags. I used to get sent up to get 10 Woodies for my dad and a specially ordered packet of condor sliced tobacco for my grandad. With the change I could pick things from the silver penny tray on the counter! Sherbet dabs, the thinnest Cadbury chocolate bar, black jacks- my fave, and fruit salad sweets. Ronnie's has a pic of Mrs Burns -it took me back years!!! Norma is right, further up before EdgarTerrace was Fairfields, Dougie Fairfield ran it, mainly fruit and veg I think. I remember going up one day and there was a sign outside saying 'local grown potatoes, carrots and bananas'!!!
