The gas masks the one mum had for me think it looked like Mickey mouse,after my brother was born in 1943 it was said a wet nappy over there face would stop the baby breathing the gas,thank goodness they were not needed,I was more araid of the mask,than the thought of gas,people must have been given Black out curtains after the war,the school asked for the curtain to make short for the football team,
