I think that the band building became the dinner hall for Beach Road school.
The dinners in the 1950s were excellent. I am not certain of this perhaps someone can confirm it but I believe that the cook was the daughter of Mr Bowness who had the dairu in Chelsea Road. His son Richie had a shop by the Pacific, Mr Bowness used to have a glass of whiskey at our house at New Year whilst his horse waited patiently outside
