The 'Green' was most possibly removed when the demolition of the old shops/houses started from Valin's Chemists up to School Lane to make way for the present shops and the widening of Sefton Road and the future roundabout.
A row of cottages (named after flowers) opposite the Green on Sefton Street were also demolished, Mill Grove was behind these cottages
The triangular intersection of Sefton Street, Field Lane, and Sefton Road is now in place
