The Canadians and Yanks were at barracks during the war.
The Canadians were there during the Blitz and a couple won bravery awards for helping with rescue work in Seaforth and Litherland after the bombings.
I have a copy of a letter sent from the Litherland Chairman of the council to the Canadian Co at the barracks thanking them for their help (good men).
There was a big fight involving the Yanks in one of the pubs on Seaforth Road, a local man was killed by a thrown chair hitting him.
About 20 years ago a man saw my website and contacted me, he was an ex-military policeman, and they were the last army people at the barracks before it was closed. He sent me photos of the barracks taken whilst he was there.
