We had a sort of in house street party, all wearing silly hats and waving flags. Steven, one of the ressies, played some great '60's music and the lovely food was from our Bistro. I would have liked a Last Night of the Proms singalong myself. Many didn't celebrate, lot's of get rid of the Monarchy folks here. For me I've not yet heard of a credible alternative.
I'm a bit of a royalist anyway Alan, in fact being a reader I've read much about the Monarchy through it's history, and I've yet to see a replacement that would work for us. We tried it once by beheading the King and replacing him with Oliver Cromwell. After he died and his son had a go the English gladly brought Charlie 2 back from exile and we became Merry England.
