I remember the Coronation well, in Anderson Road, there were tables with white tablecloths out all around the square (the square was the area in Anderson Road that had an entry that led up to Church Road opposite the Netherton Pub). Our Dad was in bed because he fell off a ladder while putting bunting up between Mr Windlers and our house, Dad had put the ladder on top of our coal shed (which had an asbestos sheet roof) so he could reach the top gutters, off he came straight down and crashed through the roof of the coal shed. Mr Windler and other neighbours were dragging him out of the coal shed he was black and covered in coal dust and I remember the people carrying Dad were trying not to laugh. I remember it was cold and threatening rain, and later on, Mr Butler had some help to move his piano out into the front garden
We got a Coronation mug from Litherland Moss school and something else too but can't remember what it was (maybe a coin)?
