I think my dad is second from the right front row and his brother (I think) is third from left on the front row. They lived in Field Lane at the time, backing onto the canal, four boys lying in bed at night listening out for the sound of the bargees and their horses making their way to and from Liverpool. There was / is a turning point for barges just behind their old house.

Holy Sepulchre School - was that on the site of English Martyrs? I don't think I've ever seen a photo of it.
