What I have learnt about William Henry Moxey. I have all the census returns, it seems he moved into premises in Bridge Road, on the corner of Laburnum Grove, he was a shoe maker, and he use to show small films on a projector to paying customers. This proved profitable and he moved further down and opened The Electric Picture Palace in 1910 to which he added Electric Lights but after a fire in 1913 it was closed, (I have a picture showing The Electric Picture Palace)
He then formed a business and built the Palladium in Seaforth. It was purpose built and although not a picture house but a keep fit place, the outside is still there and is now a Grad 2 listed building. It was operated by the Seaforth Palladium Picture Palace Ltd. Apart from his death in Liverpool, I have no further news. When you see what he achieved, I think he must have been a remarkable man.
I have been unable to find anything about his funeral or where it was.
