I think what we forget nowadays is that most of the places we went to see bands didn't sell alcohol.

We also used to frequent the Savoy, Wints, St Lukes, the Orrell, the Hornby, probably forgot some but there was wall to wall live music in the '60's if you could afford it. Every record seemed to have it's own dance.
