Phillip Halsall has been mentioned once or twice. He went off to WW1 right near the end and after his two older brothers had already been killed. If I remember correctly, he left for France a week after the second brother was killed. He was buried alive at one point but dug out intact. He wouldnt talk about the war after getting home other than than the suffering of the poor horses! He went to the USA after the war, sailed on the Calgaric a White Star Line ship, having lied about his profession - listed himself as a grocer. I don't know when he returned but he died in 1955. I think I have posted this photo before of him on his motorbike, but perhaps I can be forgiven for repeating it.
