Yes I was there and I've still got the pass to prove it, thanks to our Christine, she somehow managed to get us tickets - Yes we got soaked, we were frozen stiff and yes Paul gave us free fish and chips while we waited.
Oh boy what a night it was, 1,200 people only. With no intro he just quietly walked on to the stage said 'Ello', asked if we were all thawed out and ready for some music... rolled up his sleeves and off he went. We've seen some live class acts over the years... nothing has come near this intimate mesmerising performance, so close you could reach out and touch him. People just looked at each other and slowly nodded their heads in amazement.. what an atmosphere what a show and what a Scouser. Just stood there in his jeans, shirt with sleeves rolled up he entertained for two and a half hours I think and wished us a Happy Christmas and said he was off to have a few bevies with the family. My memory might be failing but this moment is as clear and bright as ...well the Moment..!
