Great Uncle Ron was a character, make no mistake about that. A cobbler by trade and it was often said that he had a couple of endeavours on the side, bit hush hush in case the local bobbies got wind of it. Ron hadn't followed the family tradition of something on the railway, he liked shoes, so became a first class cobbler. He objected to being called a cobbler because he could take a piece of leather and turn it into the finest shoe you could wish for, he classed himself as a first class shoe maker. The local gentry came to him when they needed a stout pair of boots to tramp over the low muddy fields of Litherland, or a pretty shoe for the ladies going to a special ball. There weren't enough Litherland gentry to keep him in business though, so he cobbled the villagers clogs which were wooden, the upper layer leather, for his bread and butter. He was thinking of moving right away from Liverpool all together, the local rozzers were showing a bit of interest in him and his activities, so he'd had to curb his side interests.
