Where the house on Ford Lane had become overgrown and had very large trees, which had had rope swings on. The foumdations could still be seen of the house and what facinated me; there were a few visible steps leading down to what must have been the basement/cellar which had all collapsed in when the house was demolished.
Arthur has a photo taken with him and his brother at where there had been a swing bridge in the past (the brokey). It shows the top of house in the background - I did have a copy but can't locate it.
If my maths is right £1.25 would have bought 300! Echos in 1918
