...and what I think is you’ve got a lot of opinions about how everyone should interpret their realty for someone that lives where...somewhere over the Wisconsin line, a fair ####ing slog from anything?

I can’t wait to hear your next interpretation of how everyone should feel about a topic that’ll never impact you.

Pins. And. Needles.

to a whiny little bitch? You used to actually be someone that people would talk to here. Maybe the weed finally fried your brain.

Has anything to do with the relevance of my opinions?

I’m glad that your opinion matters more than mine. Sorry you aren’t able to look at things from different angles. I am and I’m not sorry for trying to have a well rounded perspective of life.

Previous Message

...and that’s exactly what you twist yourself into trying to see every side of every argument.

You know...it’s not detrimental to actually take a side and a stand. Some may actually appreciate your viewpoint more if you did.

Approaching things different then I do. You never used to. Yet... something changed. What could that be?

Let’s see if Xar appreciates a board full of lib spam posts that draw 1 response each.

It’s past time to post on Villain’s board exclusively. This place has potential at one time, but Fanin has killed it. Look at the 1st page of posts.

I’ll see all you guys over there.

It’s pointless for me to complain. I won the bet. It wasn’t honored. The trolling has only gotten worse. And it’s waste of my time to post here.

No one has stood up for you and protected you more than me. we don't ban people here for their political beliefs. leave if you can't handle it.

On any of the boards? What reason could I possibly have to offer anything other than the way I actually live my life? Maybe you have enough energy to offer alternate personalities, but I don’t play that game.

Previous Message

...I’m glad the view from the middle of nowhere allows you that luxury.

I’m sure I’m as worried about your judgement as you are mine.

Previous Message

Speaking of shitty opinions coming from know it alls. With that kind of “knowledge” I should just make sure I take the opinion opposite you, and I’ll have a great chance of being right. Come back when you’re not high, maybe you’ll be more coherent.

Were the protests/riots in Kenosha relevant? Use that as a point of reference if you must. Just because I choose not to live where people leave needles and sh*t in front of my house, doesn’t mean I don’t deal with other things happening in the world.

And let’s dispense with the idea I find needles and shit in front of my house. It’s a common tactic by conservatives like yourself that don’t have a leg to stand on to divert attention from other issues.

My neighborhood is likely as troubled as yours is. Which is to say not much at all.

But even in those neighborhoods (especially in those neighborhoods) there’s likely opportunities to participate in dialogue and education about racial issues where you live.

What have you done? At all. Surprise me.

anyone can handle it. the question is whether or not one who, in handling it, can still enjoy it. and the reality is that while i don't agree with the plaza ultimatum at all, i can't say he's alone in feeling frustration.

and the issue isn't strictly about "political beliefs."

we are all busy here and with volume being what it is, any one of us could easily make this their personal twitter page and post a slew of political links without adding any sort of independent and substantive thought. its not hard to do, but most folks have the decency and respect for others not to do that.

if you know me, you know i like conflict and i like debate. but im not going to debate a link. i know when im being challenged and when im being trolled. and honestly, if its ball busting trolling, hell yeah. but if its just war of attrition trolling, at a certain point my interest shrivels to nil. thats kind of what is happening here.

in my opinion, this board works beautifully when the emphasis is on two things:

1) people are mocking the deuce;
2) people are engaging in locker room talk/telling stories

obviously there's room for other stuff too, but with a few limited exceptions, i dont really need to know a ton about your jobs. or your families. or your lunch habits. i enjoy a lot of you, but ive never taken the "community" thing very seriously. if youre a shut-in like sammich (or a message board hall of famer like viv), sure. but for most of us, its just entertainment. so, i come here for the laughs... and not to read vox articles about gerrymandering in states ive never been to or to catch up on the latest in alleged voter suppression in texas. there are plenty of other places for those who crave that content (namely, the deuce), and again, its not hard to decipher the intent; in 95% of these cases the express intent is to irritate.

and like i said, plaza was wrong to make it him or fanin. i dont think anyone needs to go. i dont want anyone to go. i think its an election year so tensions are a little higher than normal. and i acknowledge that since i dont generally agree with fanins political opinions, im probably biased in complaining about his more recent posting patterns... but i dont know. i thought the move he pulled on potomac (imo one of the best contributors we had here) was lame, and the guy hasn't been back since. im not going to stand up on potomac's behalf because he doesn't require that, but it irked me.

so i really don't think im on an island on this one, but im just one man giving my opinion.

The BOTHSIDERS and WHATABOUTTHELEFTERS will get roughed up from time to time. This is the heavyweight division of the boards.

If Biden wins, hopefully this doesn't become a right wing safespace. However, if that's what is needed, I'm cool with being banned.

I also watched The Social Dilemma about the nature of social media, plus I'm doing some non-political posts on another unrelated board where there is a trivia question or two every day and some other non-controversial topics that get enough activity to move along. This board struggles to have critical mass.
