great news. a part of me was hoping illinois would opt out (just to be able to enjoy a college football slate without it be marred by the inevitable disappointment of our outcome), but it appears as of now that all will play.
for those not following, an interesting wrinkle appears to be that they are going to orchestrate an 8 game schedule, with a 9th game taking place against the corresponding finisher from the other division (i.e. 6th in west will play 6 in east). i kind of like that, because in a year without bowl games, this can kind of simulate that last game/anything goes experience.
credit to Trump and everyone who fought for the players and fans in this process. i'm sure the media will be eager to spin any potential test as a cause for panic, but its nice to see the science and data win out over partisan politics.
because it means he might have to get out of bed now.

illini had scheduled 4 layup wins in the non-conference.
that, plus rutgers had him likely at a floor fo 5 wins, with 7 shots at the possibility of a sixth, and with that, a credible argument for sustained progress (at least to the people who don't people who dont scrutinize the results and just look at the big picture).
take out the non-conference slate and reset the league schedule to eliminate the likelihood of a crossover with a fellow bottom feeder (at least until week 9), and we could be looking at a winless campaign through the first 8. hope im wrong, but i do think thats why he was one of the few coaches who was not speaking in favor of playing games.

That sucks...was openly rooting for continued misery in Dem states
On the bright side I can watch Illinois lose 50-0 and listen to Roughy cry about it so at least that will be entertaining.
Ideally tho was hoping Ohio State would break off and play in the SEC while the other schools sat out. Would have been more fun than watching regular Big 10 games

you have to accept reality. it was stolen but there is no way to prove it.
