If even some of the accusations are true about the leadership, they are unethical criminals.

There likely has been questionable spending of both membership dues and charitable donations.

But the NY lawsuit isn't really about consumer protection.

I was always a little suspect of the organization, so never joined or contributed. I guess I figured I’d ride the wake of all those that did. Although I thought some group like GOA might be more efficient and credible.

I have been a member at various times. I think my last annual membership expired recently.

I usually reup my membership whenever there is an NRA membership drive at Cabela's, just to get a $25 gift card. But I haven't donated to the NRA in many years. GOA is definitely the way to go. And it's amusing that your average gun / 2nd Amendment / NRA hating loon doesn't even know about GOA. Which is far, far more uncompromising than is the NRA.
