that had nothing to do with character was classic. it was something like "tuscy is a good dude... he beat cancer, he coached football, he works full time" now, to be fair, i guess in retrospect i can see what he was going for. volunteerism, specifically with youths, is a good and commendable thing. but in my experience, most of the football coaches i was around were kind of assholes. and obviously its great he survived cancer. i kind of hate the term "beat" because as we've said before... it implies that people who died from it were "beaten" or somehow less valiant in their fight. i know thats not what he meant, its just a pet peeve of mine. but surviving cancer is a blessing for him and his family. im sure an experience like that would build character and improve perspective, but it doesnt make you immune from all criticism, otherwise he owes on of our own a major apology. but yeah, this isnt a dig at haighter, i respect him for sticking up for his buddy... but tuscy.... this guy is not my kind of guy. and now that im thinking of it, the last item may have been something about him having uprooted and moved to CA for work. which i think is what stood out to me as being kind of funny, because it seemed like he was kind of praising himself. but he can hop in and correct me if im remembering incorrectly. was the push a few years back to get people to rally around a consensus that michelle was attractive. it was a weird thing to push in and of itself (on multiple levels), but the way they went about it was what made it so memorable- they chose to focus the praise on her arms. now, ive been around a while, and i've seen some trends in society. when i was a kid, there was emphasis placed on legs (never resonated with a young kirkland). obiously breasts have been en vogue for about as long as anyone can remember, and most recently the ass taken the torch and emerged as the number one point of fixation. and obviously the face is important... and we've even seen reference to enough weirdos who like feet to feel like that must be a thing. but never, in any context whatsoever, have i heard a guy lean over at a club and say something akin to "man, check out the arms on her... so sexy". or "you know, she'd be model material if she just hit the bench press a little harder." yet here we were, living in the twilight zone as people made the embarrassing "michelle's got the right to 'bare arms'" crack time after time, and slapped their leg in laughter.
