He talks like someone who has never experienced life outside of Wrigleyville or Schaumburg. And while Wrigleyville is fun, and most of the north suburbs are safe, that’s the pinnacle of living in Chicagoland. That’s it.
Weather? It’s gonna suck 9/12 months. Crime? If you stay isolated in a small area of the city, you’ll be ok. Taxes? Who doesn’t love high taxes? Transit? Who doesn’t love insane traffic? Who doesn’t love it taking an hour to drive 2 miles to the airport. Attractions? The lake is nice 3/12 months People? Take your pick. Only people with the worst accent on earth. Shee-CAW-go...Nasal diarrhea.
Someone asked me what I missed about Illinois. I said only the change in seasons. That was it. And if you lived in Champaign it wasn’t much spring or fall. It’d go straight cold to hot.
