Apparently not realizing that there are very few far leftist Illini fans and even fewer that would pay for a subscription. Although, perhaps he believed that of the Illini fans still left after the team suckage and Chief removal, that the remainder were the “don’t care about results go team” variety of fans that are the common low expectations having liberal. However, generally speaking, It should be common sense that if you are going to run a sports site, and if it’s going to be political (at least somewhat) the commentary should be right or right center. What content is he providing that is worth anything? There just his own opinions. No inside scoops. Hardly any inside interviews (and he’s had media access for years). No analytical informational breakdowns. I compare it to podcaster who never had any guests, and only talked himself. For 20-30 minutes a week. Nobody is going to lay for that. Nobody would pay Joe Rogan if it was only Joe talking. They listen because he has guests and a conversation. He entertains (or his guests do). If you don’t provide scoops, entertainment, or information...what are you providing? I really think Roughy’s only customer base is a group of gullible Illini fans that feel sorry for him, and believe that paying him is akin to supporting Illinois.
