The difference is Republicans had the power to stop Obama in 2016, and they have the power to appoint a new judge in 2020. Democrats can kick and scream all they want, but In The end elections have consequences, and this is the culmination of the Republicans owning the power right now.
The other board is talking about expanding the SC so they can stack liberal judges, (When they have the executive and the senate) I’m curious what would stop Mitch from doing the opposite today?
This whole thing is going to be a shit show with Democrats throwing a fit now, and Republicans throwing a fit if they lose the Senate/Presidency.
Just kind of feels like a powder keg to me.
