1898 2E Opinion

Asking for opinions on what I should do about this. After stripping everything down, I noticed this on the left side of the frame. Looking from the back it looks like when the channel was cut for the lever spring it was not centered and it crowded the left side and left almost no material there. I can't tell if the chip was missing since 1898 or came later from week metal as well as the crack that runs almost the length. Asking others should I try and weld and reshape or leave it alone? gavinwilliams0@me.com
