Trigger adjustment

I am looking for advice on how to adjust my front trigger on my field grade, LC Smith. The front trigger sits way to far back making getting off a second shot somewhat difficult. Any help would be appreciated. Picture attached.

It looks as though it has been straightened r altered. You could try to find another hammer or try bending that one. Remove it from the action and heat it until it bends easily
