Pre-Fulton Hammer guns

Gentlemen:

On average, how much drop did the Syracuse guns normally have? I have discovered a limit to my tolerance of drop in a gun (3-inches seems to be the max I can deal with effectively).

The reason I ask is that I ran across this photograpy of a early Smith hammer the other day (the 1st one I've ever seen) and I found it to be quite attractive...

There's something about those big balls...

The gun I shoot is a 10 gage Syracuse hammer gun. Like Tom, I have 3 of them. Great guns. I also have 2 early Fulton guns built on the Syracuse pattern in 12 gage.
