Buck Hamlin case color protection

Lets try this again . Does anyone know what Buck used to seal or protect his case case coloring process? I believe it was some kind of clear coat. Had to remove some for repairs. Need to reapply. Where can I purchase some ?

Not Buck's ..but...Oscar Gaddy told me years ago that he used Testors clear lacquer...like the kind for model cars..

I've used Renaissance wax on color case hardened steel and color case patinas with good success for many years. apply about 3 coats giving a decent time to set/cure between applications.

Oscar Gaddy used Behlen's clear spray lacquer. Now branded under a different name. Walmart has it.

Timothy, yes grandpa used a “home recipe” 2 part clear epoxy.
