Ejector Trip

I recently picked up my first LC. I believe it is a 1902 grade 2 ejector. I am wondering if the ejector trip should move freely and cam off the frame face. Mine seems to be in a set position holding the kickers up and not allowing them to be held back.

1902 was the first year for the second type of ejectors. The first style used the cocking rods to eject and the second style used springs in the for-end. Does your for-end have a round escutcheon with a screw on each side of the roller, this would be the first style, second style would have the more common "banjo shaped escutcheon.
Two different types and different means of ejecting. A picture would help.

It has the banjo escutcheon. As you can see from the pictures the trip is protruded towards the muzzle end. It does not move. It seems to be the culprit to the ejectors not working. The mechanism needs a thorough cleaning, but I have been trying to figure out why things aren't moving as they should.
