I truly enjoy shooting my 1938 vintage 16 gauge Ideal for pheasants, sporting clays, trap and skeet. I'm a one-gun-guy and not a serious shooter but I do like to get out as often as I can. I had been using 7/8 oz. RST shells for older guns but they are not presently available. So I'm considering getting into reloading shot shells. I've reloaded for rifles and hand guns for many years so I'm familiar with the process but I'm not certain about where to get load info for the older guns. I've checked out the products from "Ballistics Products" only to learn that suitable powders are either in short supply or not available. Also, I'm not certain about the chamber length of my gun so I would expect to cut down 2-3/4" hulls to 2-1/2" since the shorter shells are not currently available. (From Ballistic Products) So, before I make the leap, I'd like to locate load info for the older guns to specifically include what powder to use and where to purchase it. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks very much Larry -Mac- McInroy (former member)

Larry,
Visit the Alliant and Hogdons Powder web sites for loads and related information. There are a number of recipes for 2 &1/2” RSt/Cheddite hulls. CAC Associated in PA has been a reliable source for Alliant powders and Claybuster hulls. Take a peek at 16 gauge society web site. There is a reloading forum. Many of us use Gulandi wads and DR-16s. BP has Gulandi, DRs have been scarce for last few years.
Best of luck.
have you been saving your empty RST hulls ???
