Hammer gun

Enjoyed shooting my new to me 10ga LC Smith hammergun today at my club. Joined the guys on the trap field and had fun shooting the 16yd targets but had trouble when we moved back to 27yds. Next to do what I should have done first and pattern

the gun to see point of impact.
Was using a standard 12ga trap load loaded in a 10ga 2 7/8hull and roll crimped. The fiber wads provided plenty of confetti for everybody to enjoy. Lucky the wind today cleared the way quickly.

I as well have a 10 gauge load that’s for all intents and purposes a 12 gauge trap/skeet load . I use 18.6 grains of Red Dot , a REM SP-10 wad , 1 1/8 ounce of shot and grocery store red beans in place of wadding . I used to use 1/8” nitro cards in the shot cup , but have found it a good bit faster using the beans and it doesn’t seem to hurt the patterns or my performance .

I am using 23gr Vectan D20, 1/8 nitro card, 2 1/2 fiber wads, 1/8 nitro card, 1 1/8oz 71/2, overshot card roll crimped.
The plastic wads are not available right now. the hulls are new primed cheddite hulls that I cut down to the 2 7/8' needed.
I returned to the five stand field today and had fun with my hammer gun. The cheek piece was adjusted to the proper position for more accurate use.
