Reassemble 1897 o grade 12ga?

I have successfully reassemble later guns but what is the trick on reengaging the safety stem and spring on this a 1897 gun?

You must drag it into the safety slide hole before pushing the floor plate into the stock. It’s not the easiest thing to do. Sometimes it takes a bit. Jerry

Yeah I could tell it was going to be challenging.

I do have some ideas so by hook or crook it will be re-assembled
