I purchased a unfinished set of barrel that George persall made in some alaskan .45 caliber that I cant seem to find right now. They were nickle plates and I had the nickle stripped off as the nickle was in terrible condition. Is this who you are talking about? Ken
Not sure how this will work out.Years ago a friend of mine had a set of 45-70 barrels fitted up to his mint condition L.C.Smith.He was smart enough to tie the gun to a spare tire to test fire it.When he test fired it the firing pins blew back through the gun and stock making a nice gun junk. The pressure from a rifle shell is much higher than that of a shotgun shell.Best of luck.Charlie.
Hi, yes that is the name! Thank you. Did you find those barrels on ebay years ago? I think I was birding on them as well. They were a little beat up if I recall. Had I won them I was going to have them possibly lined for something that was a bit more available like a 30-30.
Hi thanks for the information. I do believe you are 100% correct. I am actually trying to track down a set to have relined to something a bit lighter like a 30-30. I looked a beautiful 30-30 conversion that was made from a larger caliber set of George Persall barrels.
