12 gauge shell size for outside hammer with royal steel barrels

I have a L C Smith wit royal steel barrels it is a outside hammer gun wish to know if this made for 2 3/4 shotgun shells????

From the beginning, unless requested otherwise (and so stamped) 12g hammer and hammerless L.C. Smith chambers were 2 3/4".

A rare exception

What you do not know however is if someone has lengthened or modified the chamber or forcing cone since it was purchased, and the gun should be checked by a double gun specialist before use.
