Neat gun Dave. I saw your post on DoubleGun and am aware that Bro. Tom suggested you seek a value estimation on the Forum. The header clearly states that links are not allowed to guns that are for sale, but you obviously are not attempting to market the gun here. It has "Good 2 Iron" Damascus barrels and was made in 1914 I am concerned about what appears to be deep pitting in the left chamber Personally, I would only use the gun with 12g chamber inserts, which do afford much more flexibility regarding loads. And certainly before use the wall thicknesses of the barrels should be measured.

If the seller is misrepresenting what are obviously erosions in the chamber, what else is he not disclosing? Per the thread on DoubleGun, I'd buy the gun in a minute for $400 USD, acquire 12g chamber inserts, and shake the guys up on the trap field Most clubs in the U.S. limit guns on the line to 12g, which with the inserts (which can be messy) the gun would qualify. A more expensive but permanent fix would be chamber sleeving by Briley http://www.brileygunsmithing.com/c-879-full-list-of-shotgun-gunsmithing-pricing.aspx If you get the gun, a Research Letter is likely to at least document the dealer to which the gun was shipped, if not the original purchaser.
