27 inch barrel

I have a grade 2. I Cody letter . 1896 30 inch barrel. It is 27 inch. It looks original. Not chocked. What do you think or know.

Daniel: the Cody letters, as do the LCSCA Research Letters, use the remaining and original Hunter Arms Co. shipping records to document the gun's specifications at the time of manufacture.
Your gun was shipped 30" barrels. They are now 27" and have no choke. They have been cut.

Thanks Drew. So a previous owner had it cut. I wonder why. Rabbit hunting?
