Bill, neither of those numbers are Syracuse, L.C. Smiths they are early Fulton guns with all the attributes of a Syracuse L.C. Smith |
The latest Syracuse hammerless gun serial number in my records is 23553 and has L.C. Smith Maker, Syracuse, N.Y. on top of the right barrel.
The latest Syracuse hammer gun serial number I have is 25500 after this they were Fulton guns. All Syracuse guns had L.C. Smith Maker, Syracuse, N.Y. that written on the barrel. Some of the very early Fulton guns do not a a makers name on the barrels. I have some up to 37900 that are like that.
Also the lowest graded hammerless guns were a Quality 2.
Hope this helps.
