The One that "Got Away"

In an effort to stimulate a little discussion other than the normal "technical stuff"; let's share a few personal stories about Smith guns you once owned and, for whatever reason, they "got away". These guns must be a Smith gun but can be any grade or gauge, as all will involve an interesting story. As a fickle-hearted gun trader always looking for something unique and different, I've traded away quite a few guns I've regretted afterwards; but I'll begin with what I called my "dead pigeon" gun; a no-safety special order gun featuring a gold-inlaid falling pigeon on the top rib. Having a gun like this is akin to once having that special girl friend; you'll never get her back and you'll never find another, but she sure was fun when she was yours! |
