Recently, I tried to follow Forum directions to post a couple photos ..with copy..on the Forum page..I gave up..I mentioned to Mike H. that maybe changes could be made to make our Forum more "user friendly" in this area ..at least. I'm sure many of you know how the Parker Forum posting works..2 clicks..attach photo..and done..Having photos appear in the posting would be a nice addition..Just my 2cents worth..jv...
I asked the very same question years ago. The process is so onerous it just deters folks from posting images of their guns. There is no legitimate reason for the arcane process to post an image. No other forum I use has such a deterrent to use.
I too would appreciate the ability to enjoy easy photo posting, as I continue to be frustrated with the current system. That said, I've no idea what it would cost to improve that feature; and for our organization cost has always been an extremely important consideration. Hopefully the BOD will notice this thread and expound on the possibilities and costs.
If I am not mistaken, in order to post pictures on a site you need to have a photo hosting site to get the pictures from. I know I do on the sites that I post picture on. Years ago I used Photobucket, it was easy to use but now that want money for me to use it, so I went to Imgur. I found this site to be easier to use. If it will help, I will give a tutorial on how to use Imgur. Most everyone with a mobile phone has a camera with it. Some of these phones take remarkable pictures, and are comparative to some low end 35 mm SLR digital cameras and you always have them with you. I upgraded my old iPhone 6+ to a iPhone XR which has a 12 Mega pixel camera which is equivalent to my Nikon D90.
The first thing is taking a picture or two with your phone camera. On my iPhone (only because I have it and not an Android) go to the picture and then send it to Mail. Once there it states New Message, click on To: and then type your first letter and it will look for your email address. I type j and it comes up with jdavidw1@comcast.net. Click on that. Next to New Message there is an up arrow in a circle. Click on that and it will give a message Empty Subject, This message has no subject. Do you want to send it anyway? Below that is Cancel or Send, click on Send. It will then give you four (4) different formats to send it in, I always use Actual Size. If you have both Imgur open and this site, click the minimize line at the very top right, and your desktop with be there with the image/s. Click on Imgur. to the right it will ask you to Sign In (I never sign out so my username is always there ready to go.)Once signed in under your username, hold the curser there and it will give you different options, click on Images. It will then open to a green box on the right with Add Images click on that and it will take you to Browse or Drag Here I use Browse, this will then take you to your desktop and click on the image you want to download to Imgur . under green box it will state Image Uploading. To the left you will see your image. If you do nothing and just click on image you will get this, to the right click on BBCode Copy, you will get a pop-up asking "Do you want to allow this webpage to access your clipboard? Click Allow Access. Go to our site and right click and image will be posted.
That image is 1060 x 795. This is the same image not edited.
Nobody wants to view an image that large, hurts the eyes. That image size is 3024 x 4032. To edit, click on pencil, go to gray box with Edit in it In edit box to the right, you will see the size 3024 x 4032, highlight the 3024 by holding down the left tab on your mouse and drag it from the right to left ( I guess left to right works also). It will be highlighted, type in 1060 and click below it but make sure it is not on anything else but a blank space. You will see it changed the right number to 1413, hit the box above that states SAVE. Go back to box where other picture/s are and click on image and it will bring you to the above photo on what to click on, and this is how the image looks when posted.
You can go smaller but this size is good to show good details.
Don't forget to always hit Preview next to Post below so that you can see what your image/s look like.
So according to some members, Parkers site is really easy to post pictures on. I will contact Bill Ruth to see if we can possibly do something like they do. Best, Mike
I do not now how the Parker forum for posting pictures works, but I did go in and looked at some of the FAQS and basically it is the same as Imgur. I do know that once you download your pictures to Imgur all you do is pick a picture, click on it, opens to the right, select BBCode. Click accept on pop-up and then go to our forum and right click paste. Doesn't get much easier than that.

My original post mentioned posting pictures in this Forum..Like I would post a shot of my 16 FW Ideal straight grip gun in this message...Exactly how is that done ? I don't recall any photos of mentioned guns, etc in the same post..
Tried to edit..but...I know there are some photos on this Forum... I just brought up how much easier it is to do, if you load the pictures from the camera to your computer..then attach..
