Loose ejector action

Can a ejector gun action be tighter up ? It is lose side to side when opened.

If it is tight when closed I wouldn't worry about it. Holding gun up to light and looking at where barrels meet receiver you should see some light near where they meet which is common. If you have access to feeler gauges check between the barrel faces to the breech of the receiver. One thousand-two thousand is good (.001-.002). Years ago they would tell you to put a dollar bill on the breech side and close the gun, if the dollar could not be pulled out that was good. I'm guessing that a dollar is about .004.

Deone:
Loose usually means side to side play in the barrels when the action is closed and forend removed.
Off-face means there is a gap between the barrels and the breech face.
Both problems can be repaired by a doublegun specialist, possibly by placing a shim on the pin, or more permanently by shimming the hook

Bro. David of course means when the gun is allowed to snap shut. If left of 6:00 the top rib extension can be TIG welded then filed to fit the rotating bolt in order to tighten the action

It is between 5&6 . Would this gun benefit from tig welding to take care of looseness from side to side play?

Deone, what happens to the slope opening on the top rib extension is about many years of the gun being closed, the rotary bolt rubs against this slope and starts to wear it out, causing the top lever to move more to the left of center. I always try to hold the top lever over when closing so this does not happen.
If you are saying your top lever is at between 5-6 o'clock you are fine and being a little loose is ok but it should be on face. Is it loose with the forarm on? Tig or Mig will do it if it has to be done.
If you have any thin fuse wire, 1 or 2 amp put a tiny piece on the hook and close the gun and see if there now is any side movement.

It is tight with forearm on & tight on face. With forearm off it will move with side play. I showed to someone & they said your gun is loose & you should get it tightened up.
