Assembly problem

I have an 1890 vintage L C Smith. The fore grip cannot be reinstalled after barrels and receiver are reassembled. Safety works but the triggers do not appear to trigger when pulled when safe is not on. Foregrip appears misaligned . Two hinged pegs on receiver are not aligned with slot on fore grip. Hinged pegs seem immovable. What to do?

You must cock the hammers Joe. There are instructions and pictures in the "Maintenance and Restoration" section in the FAQs

With a small wrench in place on the left cocking rod, you rotate the right cocking rod (left side of picture) DOWN. Then do the same for the left cocking rod.
