Barrel bottom rib question

Is the bottom rib the same on a set of 30" 12 bore barrels as on a 30" 20 bore set?

Travis from what I see in the drawings is that the bottom rib on both the FW frame and Regular frame are the same .295-.298. It doesn't specify gauge so they are the same.

That is what I was thinking

I have a 30" FW ideal 20 Bore that I want to refinish that needs a bottom rib and I also have a set of Damascus 12 Bore barrels with a blow out but the bottom rib is good.

I was thinking of harvesting the good rib to put on the good barrels.

Travis, just make sure you secure the barrels and the top rib with some wire along the whole length during the soldering.

Thanks for the direction. I have been wanting to try a rib re-lay but I think I am going to just scavenge the rib and send to a professional on this ideal grade barrel set.

Would not the Damascus barrel have a Damascus bottom rib? That should be interesting!!

the bottom and top ribs do not appear to be Damascus. Just like the barrel extension and lug are not.

A fellow by the name of Russ used to put the off side of his barrels in water so it would be hard to melt the wrong solder. I like soft wire and cut nails.
