I was offered, and recently bought, this LCS 3E with it's second set of factory fitted barrels, done in about 1927. They're 32", have 3" chambers, vent rib, and .039" chokes in both barrels. Gun has a HOT, an old, but pliable, Redhead pad, semi-beavertail f/e. and perfect screw heads. Weighs in at 8 lbs. 5 oz. unloaded. Appears to me to have never been refinished. First set of barrels were 30" and had a splinter f/e.
Original owner was C J Backstrand, chairman of Armstrong Cork Co., resident of Lancaster, PA, and a member of the Philadelphia Gun Club, a very active pigeon club. New owner is just looking forward to smoking some clays, and using her on late season doves and ducks.
That is a very nice No 3E. Having the extra set of barrels in 32" with a vent rib is always nice. The No. 3's are getting harder to find in decent condition and even harder to find like the one you have. Hope you will be able to get some of your farming done and shoot with us in Sanford.
